How to measure

How to measure

All you need is a soft measuring tape and two minutes. Measure over thin underwear or leggings, stand relaxed, and keep the tape level and snug, not tight. Record inches or cm, whichever your tape shows.

Measure your body

A woman on a mountain road with her waist (34 in) and hips (38 in) marked by tape-measure overlays
  1. Waist: Around the narrowest part of your torso, usually just above the belly button. Breathe out normally.

  2. Hip: Around the fullest part of your seat. Check in a mirror that the tape is level all the way around.

Or measure jeans that fit you

Your best-fitting pair is the most accurate guide.

  1. Lay the jeans flat, buttoned, and smooth out wrinkles.

  2. Waist: measure across the top edge. Hip: measure across at the base of the fly. Double both measurements for the full circumference.
