About Astrid
What is Astrid?
Astrid helps you find your jean size in any brand. Instead of guessing from a size label, we compare real measurements (waist, hip, rise and inseam) across brands, so you know what to order before you buy.
How is this different from a brand's size chart?
A brand's chart only covers that brand, and most only list body measurements, meaning who a size is supposed to fit. Astrid puts brands side by side and adds measurements of the jeans themselves, plus fit notes from women who own them.
Is Astrid an AI stylist?
No. Astrid doesn't guess your style or tell you what to wear. We show real numbers and where they came from, and you decide.
Does Astrid sell jeans?
No. We're an independent sizing guide. When you find a pair you like, we link you to the brand's site to buy it.
Are you affiliated with any brands?
No brand owns or pays for Astrid's sizing results. As more brands go live, some links to brand sites may earn us a small commission, at no cost to you. That never affects which sizes or brands we show you.
Is Astrid free?
Yes, it's free to join. Some features may become part of a paid membership later, and we'll always tell you before anything changes.
When does Astrid add new brands?
We add a new brand every week. Everyone who signs up gets an email when a new brand goes live.
Measuring and fit
How do I measure myself?
Use a soft tape measure. For your waist, measure the narrowest part of your torso. For your hip, measure the fullest part of your hips and seat. Keep the tape level and snug, not tight. Measuring over thin clothing or bare skin works best.
Can I use centimeters?
Yes. Switch between inches and centimeters anytime.
What if I like my jeans low on my hips?
Tell us where you like your jeans to sit: at your waist, a little lower, or low on your hips. Low-rise and baggy styles often need 1–2 sizes up, so Astrid shows that size next to your fitted size.
What if I'm between sizes?
We'll tell you. Instead of picking one for you, Astrid shows both sizes and which measurements land where, so you can decide whether you'd rather size up or down.
How accurate is it?
We start with what each brand publishes, and label every number with where it came from. As women measure the jeans they own, those measurements check the brand's numbers. Once enough agree, they replace them.
Does it work for petite, curvy, or tall?
Yes. Astrid matches your actual measurements, not a standard body shape. We also note which styles brands make in curvy, petite, and tall versions.
Brands
Which brands are included?
We're starting with popular women's denim brands and adding more based on what members tell us.
What if my brand isn't there?
Tell us when you sign up by adding jeans you own from that brand. The brands members list most get added first.
Is it just jeans?
For now. We're starting with women's denim, then expanding to all pants, then more clothing.
Is it only for women's sizes?
For now, yes. Men's sizing may come later.
Privacy and your account
Who can see my measurements?
Only you. Your measurements are saved to your account and never shown to anyone.
What do you do with the jeans I tell you about?
Your fit details, combined with everyone else's and never shown individually, help us learn how each brand really fits, so the sizes we show are more accurate for every member.
Can I delete my account?
Yes, anytime. Deleting your account removes your measurements and everything you've saved.
